After a very early start we caught the bus which wound up the zigzag road to Machu Picchu itself: Wow! The city was built around 15th century and nobody really knows why despite many theories. An American explorer from Yale, Hiram Bingham III was responsible for lots of excavation and plunder around 1912.
Rather than make the hairy climb up Huayna Picchu we all decided to walk up to the Sungate to look down on the site from a similar altitude:

From there it was back to Cusco by bus and train and our last evening together with the whole group!
